AFRIKA! AFRIKA!

This is an opportunity to experience the ‘other side’ of Africa: a continent so immensely rich in cultural tradition and bustling creativity. André Heller’s team and the choreographer Georges Momboye have travelled all over Africa to put this show together. Between Mali and Morocco, Egypt and South Africa, along all its coasts and in the interior as well as in the African Diaspora, they have found fascinating artists, dancers, musicians, singers, eccentrics and acrobats of unbelievable variety. André Heller’s declared intent is to give the African artists a European stage that is equal to their brilliance.
Over 100 performers from several of African regions are participating in this show. Some of them come from one of the two African circus schools which are co-operating partners of this project. And several of them have meanwhile been integrated into the pool of outstanding African performers! Afrika! Apart from the artistic performance, the masques, the costumes, the music and dance dominate this event.
