The first concert highlight of this year is without doubt Mick Hucknall with SIMPLY RED, who will appear on stage in the Stadthalle Graz as part of their world tour on 22 May 2009. Almost 6 years after his last performance, the audience will again have the pleasure of enjoying his soulful sounds.
Mick’s unique talent and feeling for music make him one of the greatest singers of the past, the present and certainly also the future. His repertoire stretches from soul to reggae and from pop to rock, often spiced with a bit of jazz, which enthrals people with even the most diverse musical tastes. For more than 20 years, his voice has felt like velvet on our ears and hearts.
Some of his best-known musical gems are ‘Money´s Too Tight to Mention’, ‘If You Don´t Know Me by Now’, ‘Something Got Me Started’, ‘Holding Back the Years’ and many more.
His international fame does not, however, solely stem from his talent as a singer, he is also an exceptionally gifted songwriter. His songs sound equally great, whether they are the originals or interpreted by Coversong.
His latest ‘Best of’ album, which has been available in record shops since mid-November, offers a brilliant overview of his talent.
Over recent years, there have been countless rumours that the group would split up and that he wanted to fully concentrate on his solo projects - they don’t let him and thank goodness for that!
