The Egerländer
26.05.2009
The world’s most successful brass band is on tour again!
‘Without Borders’ Europe Tour 2008/2009
The orchestra’s history is ample proof that the ‘Egerländer Musikanten’ [Musicians from the Egerland] and their leader Ernst Hutter do not set borders and this attitude is again discernable both from their musical and their philosophical approach in their tour ‘Without Borders’. Throughout its long history, true professionals from all musical genres have played in the ‘Band of First Choice of German Brass Music’, as the Egerländer are also called, which is the reason for their unmistakable sound. This holds still true today as a younger generation keeps up the great musical heritage of the founding fathers from the Egerland. Open borders, from the east to the west of Europe, are a dream that Ernst Mosch, Gerald Weinkopf or Frank Pleyer, just to name a few of the founders, could hardly have imagined. The great hits from the legendary ‘Ernst Mosch era’ still form the main part of every concert, but new compositions have been added and have meanwhile become the trademark of Ernst Hutter. Brilliant soloists and singers round off this grandiose musical experience. True to his life’s maxim ‘Love and Music’, Ernst Hutter and his musicians live for a future ‘Without Borders’ in every way, with great enthusiasm, without barriers or limits of age. In recent years, the successor of Ernst Mosch and his ‘Dream Band’ have continued the 52 year-old success story with grandiose tours, highlighted by a performance at the Carnegie Hall in New York and the live DVD concert production at Frankfurt’s Alte Oper [Old Opera House].
