  • The historic part of Graz was awarded UNESCO cultural heritage site status in 2000.
  • Operas, theatres, festivals - Graz is the capital city of culture and can offer an attractive programme of events 365 days a year - from jazz to the classics.
  • Four universities, colleges, public and private research institutions, also make Graz a city of global repute in terms of science and research activity.
  • As an economic area Graz accommodates the workplaces of over 200,000 people, of whom around 30,000 are employed within the automobile cluster. Global brands such as Mercedes, BMW and Saab are produced in Graz.

  • Graz is also a city offering a wide range of sights such as the eye-catching Grazer Kunsthaus, the island in the River Mur, the university building and several other attractive examples of modern architecture.
  • For 20 years now Graz has been recognised as an international venue for congresses and an excellent place for people to meet. There is excellent infrastructure including over 60 venues for side events and evening entertainment.
  • The broad area surrounding the city is perfect for trips and activities. There are the Styrian wine roads, areas with numerous palaces, fruit growing regions, spa regions and the Graz foothills.
