Magic Moments Tournee 2017

Stadthalle Graz, 15.12.2017, 19:30

Completely new show in Vienna and Graz. Appearing on stage, the star soloists: Cassandra Steen, Anton Zetterholm, Lars Redlich und Willemijn Verkaik

From 30.11.2017, the new concert series "Disney in Concert - Magic Moments" will present audiences in 15 cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the most beautiful moments from over 80 years of Disney film history. The star soloists Cassandra Steen, Willemijn Verkaik, Anton Zetterholm and Lars Redlich, together with the Hollywood sound orchestra under the direction of Heinz Walter Florin, will bring the most popular Disney songs to the stages of the big concert arenas. Jan Köppen will be the moderator guiding you throughout the evening.

The new show introduces the audiences this year to the most imaginative worlds, shows the most dramatic duels between good and evil and tells the most touching love stories. The matching music for the Disney film scenes is performed live on stage by star soloists. Cassandra Steen, Lars Redlich and Willemijn Verkalk, who have already been engaged for "Disney in Concerts - Magic Moments", are now actively supported by three other artists: Gil Ofarim, Anton Zetterholm and Milica Jovanovic who have also confirmed their participation in this special live production.

The musician Gil Ofarim, who is currently displaying his outstanding dance talents on the latest RTL show "Let's Dance", became known in the 90s with his single "Round 'n' Round (it goes)". Like his colleagues, Gil has a very special connection to Disney: In 2007, he directed a song for the Disney cinema film "Meet the Robinsons" and "Cursed". With the Swede Anton Zetterholm, another Disney lover joins the line-up of stars: in 2008, he played the male lead role in the Disney musical "Tarzan", for which superstar Phil Collins selected him personally.

This was followed by engagements at home and abroad in musicals such as "Wicked", "The Dance of the Vampires", "Les Miserables", "Artus Excalibur" and "West Side Story". The third newcomer, Milica Jovanović, is also no stranger to the Disney in the Concerts series: Jovanović played the role of Mrs. Banks in Vienna for the German-language premiere of the Disney musical "Mary Poppins". Jovanović studied Musicals at the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding in Munich and at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Afterwards, she was an ensemble member of the Staatsstheater in Munich for five years where she sang, among other roles, Eliza in "My Fair Lady", Papagena in "Die Zauberflöte" and Dorothy in "The Wizard of OZ". These were followed by various main roles in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

With Cassandra Steen and Willemijn Verkaik, two German original voices from past Disney animations will be on the stage: Steen synchronized the role of Tiana from Disney's "Kiss the Frog" - Verkaik sang the role of Elsa in "The Ice Queen - Completely Unfrozen". Just like Willemijn Verkaik, Lars Redlich is again taking part. In the past, he has already performed various main roles in major musical productions such as: Danny Zuko at the Europatour of "Grease", Dr. Frank'n'Furter in the "Rocky Horror Show" or Ché in "Evita." The prize-winner of the prestigious Federal Singing Competition, was the top act in Europe's largest revue theater, The Berlin Friedrichstadtpalast, and was a brilliant multi-instrumentalist, singer and host at the Classic Open Air Festival at Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt.
More than 70,000 people were swept away by the last "Disney in Concert" tour with its musical variety, the well-known melodies and the top-class voices. With "Magic Moments" the successful concert series will be extended with a new show this year. As in the Disney Channel of the same name, "Disney Magic Moments", the audience will get to hear and watch the most popular film scenes with the corresponding soundtracks live. From the great classics, up to the current film hits, the new live production "Disney in Concert - Magic Moments" brings together a sound mix from the entire Disney repertoire. Through the multimedia performance, which will be shown on screens parallel to the music film excerpts from the Disney productions, everyone in the audience will be able to experience a complete evening immersed in the musical world of Disney.
